Edgework

There are several types of glass edge treatments, and each will have a distinctive impact on the finished piece in terms of aesthetic, functionality, and performance. The implementation of your edge treatment depends on the usage and application, from conference tables to all glass entrances, partitions, and dividers to glass markerboards, or even elaborate display cases across numerous environments, including office, retail, and hospitality. The end result will always be a sophisticated look that adds character to your glass.

In addition to aesthetic enhancements, edgework also makes the glass easier to clean and maintain, as well as safer, reducing the possibility of serious injury due to sharp edges or corners.

Edge Profiles

  • Internal cut-out polishing
  • Digital file capable DXF, DWG and others
  • Customer patterns can be digitized

Sandblasting icon

Sandblasting

Ever wonder how to give glass that neat, frosted look? The answer is sandblasting. Originally, the process involved sand alone; today, a variety of elements, such as aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, certain ground-up shells, sand (of course), and other gritty materials are used to create different effects in the glass. Material is shot through a hose with compressed air against a glass surface, resulting in microscopic scratches that eventually produces the frosted glass aesthetic.

  • Sandblasting available on most all glass types from 1/8” (3 mm) up to 1” (25 mm)
  • Min. size sandblasted
    • Annealed: 5″ x 5″
    • Heat-treated: 5″ x 5″
  • Max. size sandblasted
    • Annealed: 100″ x 204″
    • Heat-treated: 96″ x 198″

Tempering

Our tempered glass is tested and certified by the Safety Glazing Certification Council (SGCC) to meet the ANSI Z97.1 / CPSC 16 CFR 1201 and CAN/CGSB standards for glazing in hazardous locations.

  • Tempered glass thicknesses: 1/8″ (3 mm) up to 3/4″ (19 mm)
  • Min. size all thicknesses: 10″ x 10″
  • Max. size for 1/8″ (3 mm) glass: 40″ x 80″
  • Max. size for 5/32″ (4 mm) up to 3/4″ (19 mm) glass: 96″ x 198″
  • Hole size options will vary based on glass thickness
  • Can be used monolithically, or insulated

V Grooving

Effortlessly enhance the aesthetics and functionality of glass with V Grooving.

V Grooving is the art of cutting V-shaped lines into the glass surface, resulting in visually stunning, intricate designs. These lines can be curved or linear, textured for an opaque effect or polished for a clear, smooth finish. Combine line sizes and finishing styles for unique artistic effects, such as minimizing transparency or shadowing. V Grooving is also useful in recreating and restoring designs found on vintage glass.

  • Single or multiple V Grooves per lite
  • V Grooves available on glass thicknesses  from 1/8″ (3 mm) up to 3/8″ (10 mm)
  • V Grooves widths available 1/4″ (6 mm) and 3/8″ (10 mm)
  • Polished, satin, and shadow finish
  • Satin finish finger pulls and plate grooves
  • Custom shapes
  • Min. size V Grooved glass
    • Annealed: 6″ x 6″
    • Heat-treated: 10″ x 10″
  • Max. size: 48″ x 96″
